What is your guilty pleasure food? Something you love eating but know is low class, childish, or kind of shameful.

For me it's cheap hot dogs. Not sausages or brautwurst or fancy organic grass fed ones but the low-quality original Oscar Meyer ones that have no texture and are full of nitrites and have various "mechanically separated" meats in them. I know they're not good but every time I eat one I get a huge nostalgia rush and am reminded of summer vacation and camping trips and childhood freedom.

Same here, I love hotdogs. There's something about brea+sausage+mustard+onions that I can't get enough of. Sometimes I drive to IKEA in my city just to get 5-6 hotdogs for cheap and they have a delicious black currant lemonade. IKEA in general has pretty good food.

I've only tried their ketchup and grilled sausages because a friend brought it, it was good. He loves their stuff.

yeah, not me fren; grilled some filets a while back, they were rare in spots and I don't like the texture. If I felt compelled to eat raw meat, I would cut it in small pieces, dip it in a sauce, and swallow.
Love baking sweets and pleasing/impressing with them. Just finished an experimental peanut butter chocolate low carb cheesecake, chilling in the frig, waiting for me to come home from work and test.
Monday looks good to grill, might try making low carb buns for my beef-bison-bacon burgers.
Lugol's and salt loading plus low carb diet seems to be fixing the off body sensations was having, and filling me with energy; won't try raw meat without a reallly good reason to get me past the gross factor.
Think I might make some egg nog soon, that's a tasty way to drink a bit of raw egg.

Tonight I tried a new version of tacos. I simmered 1lb of 93/7 ground beef with about 2 tbsp chili powder, and 2 tbsp of cumin powder. I added a very small can of chilies in adobe sauce, and about 1/4 cup of water. That simmered for about 20 minutes with a lid on. While that was going I made some charro (canned) beans and some basic Spanish rice (look up a recipe). I also shredded 10oz of Oxaca cheese while this was going on.

Then I put 1 big tablespoon of meat and about the same amount of cheese in a tortilla and folded it in half. I heated up some oil, just enough to half cover the taco, to about 350F. I fried the tacos for about 60 seconds on each side or until they were golden brown.
It was a huge hit, I might try the same recipe with corn tortillas next time.
What’s for dinner tonight at frens house?

d13d0 No.273

No pic cause haven made it yet but tonight were having grilled chicken sammies.

>grill chicken on bbq

>cheesy taters in the oven
>sautéed green, red and yellow bell peppers and onions and maybe mushrooms for sammies
>boiled carrots for side
>chibatta buns drizzled with olive oil, warmed in the oven for chicken sammie buns. :)

>dinner tonight
Got leftovers, scrambled eggs with onion, bacon, sausage, cheese.
Also have my first experiment in peanut butter chocolate cheesecake chilling. Am eager to see how that turned out, hoping it will be as tasty as unhealthy cheesecake and friends will be astounded it's healthy.

Personally:
1) Banh mi (op la, thit nuong or xiu mai): i really like crispy baguettes with the saucy filling. pickled veg and fresh herbs make it pop

2) Chicago style italian beef with hots and au jus: dipping this in the jus makes it delicious and the pickled peppers add some heat

3) BLT (with fresh tomatoes from the garden): personally i like some egg and/or avocado on it as well. but you just can't beat a good BLT/E/A

honorable mention: fried egg sandwich on sourdough with grape jelly: my mom raised me to eat fried egg sammy w grape jelly. it sounds a bit strange but don't knock it til you try it

so /ck/frens, what are yours? also please tell me about the sandwiches which are unique or popular in your country.

i prefer fried egg w sausage and american, its very melty and creamy; use a kaiser roll, mayo one side, ketchup on other, salt and pepper to taste, ad hoc hot sauce, cayenne/vinegar style like Trappy's
this is kind of a hybrid NYC-Korean BEC

i've been keeping it simple
sour dough / italian (can't find) / white + ham + swiss + mayo
i'm going to work in some cream cheese + jelly on toast which is a great breakfast/snack

I went to McDonald's yesterday and got a Filet-O-Fish combo and a Bacon Clubhouse Burger. I was eating it in my vehicle in the parking lot and listening to an audio book when I glanced up and saw the McDonald's worker I ordered from was outside having a cigarette.

She waved at me and I nodded and had to wait 7 minutes before she went back inside and I could eat in comfort again. I don't think that employees should be bothering or even trying to socialize with customers outside of the McDonald's restaurant or drive through, but that is another story.

I went to McDonald's for dinner last night and got a Big Mac combo and a 10 piece Chicken McNuggets with barbecue dipping sauce. As I was driving to the second window the same girl was still working. She was acting somewhat obsequious and attempting small talk when she asked, 'why don't you come eat inside instead of in the parking lot'.

That really bothered me for many reasons. First of all, I don't want my routine or actions to be tracked by a fast food employee. Secondly, she should not try to tell me how I should live my life. I do not want to eat inside because I find it less comfortable and would much rather be inside my vehicle listening to an audiobook and enjoying myself and my privacy.

Overall, I think it was very unprofessional to bring this up. I should have a clean slate with each drive through visit, not have to get the third degree because I committed some sort of faux pas. Which I don't think I did, because I often see people eating in fast food parking lots. How does she know I am not busy going to work or somewhere in a rush?

How do you feel about eating in your vehicle in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant versus eating inside the restaurant?

I used to work in a pizza/pasta bar which wasn't even classical fast food place and with much better conditions and pay than McDonald's (McDonald's workers envied us) and I don't know where to start… Working with people is extremely draining, especially if place is located "on street" because all kinds of people passing by and places like that don't really make any kind of selection of customers, everyone is supposed to feel welcome. People are idiots and when they are hungry they somehow become much worse (like OP). Other issue is that working atmosphere in places like that is horrible, for some reasons, fast food restaurants attract the scummiest and the slimiest kinds of people. Like, one of my bosses didn't work anything at all and other one couldn't make recipe right and they were both stealing. Others were mixed bag of people who wanted to be in the same position as those 2 guys and acted just like them and people who just needed job but they were still buying into all the drama. And omg, the drama…

Thing is, I still remember some of the customers who were rude, or crazy, or just heavy in any way, while those normal people, who just buy and leave without fuss are forgettable. You won't remember them after the next customer. So, if I managed to notice someone I would like to exchange a word or two with sometimes, I would make some extra effort.
